Just finish Attack the Block and, wow. It gets everything right, no huge plot holes or stupid unreal choices made by the characters like American movies. (the white girl runs away when the alien falls from the sky instead of checking the crater!) It builds up this world that has an overhanging cloud of comedy, but with veins of seriousness that all meet at one point, Moses. Everyone makes you laugh at some point, watching them deal with this alien invasion and try to remain cool and it makes you grow attached to each of them and hope for them to survive, but...(not going to spoil it). The middle of the movie, though. One 2 minute scene makes you stop and go "oh." That entire world comes crashing down with one single tear and you feel it. With that bit of character development played so well, the kid playing Moses just explodes as an actor. He goes from worthless wannabe gangsta to hero without home and with eyes that see the world for what it is. That crucible he goes through in this movie makes you almost want to cry at his redemption.
