Just finished The Hotel New Hampshire. I dont know if im full of hope or sadness--I think great books give you the spectrum of feelings. Im sad reading it is over, but the experience was like delving into a full blown family affair and with it the darkness, humor and hopefulness a close family will go through. I was right there with the Berry family the whole time for all 450 pages, and I felt like an enlightened observer into something bizarre, and beautiful--at times it was hysterical, many times it was unorthodox, but through it all it seemed to inhabit a strange logic that made the family closer. Let me just say this was and is a monumentally great book.
