Just finished reading the book, Forgiving Kevin, written by a friend, Larry Glenz. Very compelling reading since it is about his relationship with his son, Kevin who went to school and played lacrosse with both my sons, and also his sons descent into drug addiction. My husband and I were heartbroken to learn of Kevins death due to overdose in his 20s. Kevin was a star athlete and scholar when we knew him. If it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone. Such is the lure of oxycontin and then heroin. Kevin has not been the only one of my sons friends to die of drug abuse. I consider myself fortunate to have escaped this experience firsthand. I really dont know what Larry could have done differently to change the outcome. Larry has written a very frank, honest, compassionate and loving story of his and his familys experiences.
