Just finished viewing the film A Late Quartet on Netflix. Starring Christoper Walken and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, it is an interesting film for those who love and appreciate classical music. It shows the egos, the angst, the passions and the frailties of classical musicians, in particular, with beautiful chamber music supporting the often sad story of the lives of the quartets members. The Pablo Casals story is based on a true event and, for me, was worth watching the entire film just to get that one laugh. I dont think this film will resonate strongly with non musicians, perhaps I could be wrong. However, students of classical music should find this film heart rending and compelling on many levels. Any feedback always appreciated.
