Just finished watching Chasing Amy, and I have to say, I wasnt an overall fan. I liked how the movie began: boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, girl is actually gay, boy and girl become close friends. But then it got to the point where I started to dislike it: boy confesses love for girl, boy sleeps with girl, girl is magically straight. I feel like that isnt accurate in the least. I mean, I know its a movie, but still! I dont think Ben Affleck is good enough to change a lesbian straight (although he did it to Jennifer Lopez in Gigli, so maybe he can). And then it turns out that the girl had been with multiple men before coming to the realization she was gay (that was worded awkward, I apologize), which upsets the guy. I think there was something there that they could have expanded on, with the beginning. Boy meets girl, falls in love, finds out shes gay, they become best friends. THATS a good story. That extra stuff wasnt necessary.
