Just finished watching episode 2 of #LUCHAUNDERGROUND. Nice things to notice: 1) Camera angles are done surprisingly well. The production team in back has done a great job in hiding anything that might make the matches look unauthentic. 2) Crowds and announcers can literally have human expletives in order to properly promote shock and awe. Something WWE hasnt had since JR was full time. 3) The audio is fantastic. The ring is well micd and while the wrestlers are not, their voices are filtered well and you can clearly hear what they are saying. 4) The characters are dramatic. To the point that what you see on the screen for the most part is what you get. Its a nice change from having to watch a guy for months before figuring out what his gimmick is. 5) The overall feel is dirty and gritty. From the women, to the arena, and including the fans themselves, everything has an almost underground fight club feel to it, which is refreshingly different. 6) In-ring announcer (whatever her name is). I love the fact that she introduces the wrestlers in half English and half Spanish. It definitely adds to the authenticity of the product. 7) However a huge negative imo atm, is theyre already trying to build up their own John Cena with Puma. The specific Konnan segments seems to be the focus of the show is around him, when it shouldnt be. LU needs to focus on different workers every week with a little bit of background (real or fictitious) until they have hooked a steady viewership and can then expound on crowd/social media favorites. I just worry that LU might try to shove someone down peoples throats and that hasnt worked in 30+ years. Good show. Cant wait for next week. Thoughts?
