Just finished watching this Final which is the follow up to the Lee Chong Wei Semi Final. Guess who won? Even before clicking it I knew that Lin Dan would win. After 1st set, the Korean hung with him till 18-18 or so but somehow Lin Dan would find a way to pull away. And the 2nd set was quite one-sided really. And this Final was played in Korea too, similar to an Away setting for Lin Dan. But did it even affect him? Away? What Away Ground? Lin Dans defence is too good, he can return half of your best smashes, what would be certain winners against other players. But not against him. He will even dive for every shot, even if it looks near impossible to return already, and he does manage to return more than what he should. On the other hand, you cant return most of Lin Dans smashes, never mind his best smashes. Lin Dans average smash is already usually a winner, and if he gets one of his best smashes you just dont return it. The angle, the placement usually right down the line/corner, the power and speed of the shot just means that you are in deep trouble to say the least.
