Just for fun...a propose a Space Opera Face Book Page project. Let us decide upon a ship, any ship that could be in space and is not just a snarky stab would be considered. Once we get a general idea of the top 5 choices, put it to a poll. I figure we will get a dozen or so people interested. So a ship that has room for a minimum of 20, with a reasonable consideration for a few more if interest takes off. Once we pick the ship, then top 5 suggestions for the name...poll it. Then the setting. Again polling for the top 5 suggestions. Most likely leave off the ones where everyone near godlike and can do anything, as there is no drama left at that point. The ship need not be from the setting as this is for fun and we can do as we please. Then the direction for the ship...exploration, pirates, merchants, pleasure, etc. Top 5, poll it. Then once we have the ship, the setting, mission, then we will present our selves as we would like to be on said ship...species, rank/position, career field, etc. To avoid major issues of wanting to be captain or executive officer (or equivalent) I was thinking we might also offer a known pair to serve in these positions, even if they are unrelated in context or setting. Again, top 5 suggestions. So a couple suggestions that lead to a few polls... 1. specific style of ship that will support a minimum crew of 20 2. suggestion for ships name 3. favored SO setting...(not one with godlike or do anything types) 4. ships mission 5. preferred species and desired rank (other than commanding or executive officers) 6. nominate your choice of known SO Capt and Exec officers (need not be related to ship, setting, or each other in style or other) And then we blast off for adventures untold!
