Just found out that Target opens at 6 pm Thanksgiving for their black Friday sale this year... I dont think Ive ever felt more disappointed or let down by a company I work for, and Ive had some really poorly run jobs. Im convinced that Walmart and Target will continue to try and one up each other, opening earlier and earlier until we end up at the point where Black Friday sale starts on the third Wednesday of September. Im disgusted by the whole event, honestly. I dont agree with the fact that it mocks the entire point of the holiday we are currently celebrating when it begins. Maybe Id be able to bite my tongue if they were honest, if they could atleast wait till 12:00 midnight so that people could trample the idea of Thanksgiving that had just past on the way to their new superhuge flat screen TV. You dont see people rushing to drop the New Years Ball in Times Square at 6 pm on New Years Eve do you? I dont think Ill ever understand. To all the companies that elected to pass on the event to allow their employees time with their families, and all the people that are voluntarily choosing to stay out of the madness in protest for those that have to run it: thanks. Thank you all for remembering what the meaning of the Holiday is about, for enjoying the season as it was meant to be: amongst family and loved ones, slowly but surely falling into a turkey related food coma.
