Just found out that the song I produced, engineered and played electric sitar on as a call & response instrument with Gary Lowders vocal on his rendition of Baby Its You is Number 1 for the 2nd week in a row on the premier Carolina Beach Music radio station, 94.9 The Surf in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. The station is also accessible worldwide at 949thesurf and many far flung members of the beach music community all over listen to it daily, via there computers and smart phones. The arrangement of the song floored me when Gary first presented it to me and I knew if people heard it they would love it. Its the old Burt Bacharach song that the Shirelles did in the early 60s and it made such an impression on the Beatles, they recorded it too. Garys version is what in beach music could be called a smoothie, but it has such a cool groove and arrangement almost anyone who likes any kind of music can appreciate it. I also found out last night that it is Number 1 on well know beach music DJ, Mitch Harbs chart, at was at the top of the national beach music chart at Cashbox Magazine just last week. So glad so many have heard the wonderful essence of Gary Lowders version. If everyone who hears the song and enjoys it would go to 949thesurf and request it on line, or call them up during the day and request it, we might hang around in that rarified atmosphere a bit longer.
