Just found this Review on Amazon of our 2008 album (VOLUME 3) - Thanks Dan (whoever you are!!) Really good modern Reggae tunes that sound just like the old days.Authentic sound today (and suchlike). By Dan on 19 Sep 2014 Erin Barwell Collective-Vol. 3 The Instrumentals Pop-A-Top Records PATCD08. Known for Shocks Of Mighty Sound System Club Nights at The Victoria in Old Town Swindon. Tracklist: 1. Distant Calling 2. Black Tea 3. Fry Up (the single as heard on BBC 6 Music) 4. Evaporator (as heard on Gideon Coe Radio 6) 5. Dust Cloud (as heard on Radio Ceredigion - Wales) 6. Red Sand Featuring Preston Steel 7. The Happy Times (as heard on the Pressure Drop Sound Cast USA summer 2009) 8. The Rush Of Life 9. Night Time Dreaming 10. Iron Horse(sounds like a version of Ken Boothe-Freedom Street) 11. Heatsieze Down Blunsdon Hill Featuring Preston Steel 12. Skelly Featuring Preston Steel 13. The Big Freeze Like The early Upsetters meet Studio One. Musicians include: Drums - Matty Bain, Pete ODriscoll Bass - Pete Fitzsimmons, Jase Hill Guitar - Jimmy Adamson, Pat Luszez and Jase Hill Keyboard, Drums, Percussion - Erin Bardwell Saxaphone - Preston Steel. There is a great selection of tunes and rhythms to keep things moving and you can hear that they love Reggae music 100%(including all the intricacies of classic Reggae era tunes-how the instruments are layered, percussive instruments given equal level as all the other instruments, organ deftly bouncing in the background and leading as well, and of course the SPACE in the tunes themselves).A great tribute to the classic era of Reggae. Erin Bardwell Collective are Pop-A-Top Records. Sound mastering is pristine bar the deliberately added crackles to make some songs sound older(no joke).
