Just give an update of the recent home invasion robberies that have occurred in the Woodland Hills area. Detectives have determined that the two incidents that occurred three weeks from each other are not related. Detectives have also determined that the suspects involved with these crimes targeted these houses for specific reasons and are not random crimes. Besides these two incidents, there is no trends of these crimes occuring in the division. Use these incidents as a means of building on your neighborhood watch groups, looking out for each other and looking out for suspicious activity. Remember that if you think that it raises to the level of a crime call 911, if you believe somethings just isnt right call non-emergency at 1-877-ASK-LAPD/1-877-275-5273. An example of a reason why you would call non-emergency would be door-to-door solicitors. It is now illegal to solicit magazaines or any other goods to receive at a future date door-to-door in the City of Los Angeles. Suspects are using this as a means of casing neighborhoods. We want to stop and talk with anyone soliciting door-to-door to verify they are legitimate.
