Just got a direct cellphone call from Vicki Overley, the local rep for Heartland Payment Systems. She was headed out of town and is TURNING AROUND with a replacement machine right now, expects to be here within 30 minutes to have us up and running again. Please excuse me for being hot -- and I expect to be until we can swipe cards again -- but I think Vicki is about to be a Godsend, and deserves a sizable raise in whatever commission she earns as the local rep. And if you intend to have Friday dinner with us, know that credit card processing will be online, and shout a huge THANK YOU to Vicki. My apologies for hitting FB with both guns blazing, and I promised Vicki I would do the public retraction, but Dear Customer Service: you absolutely DO NOT tell a restaurant that there is nothing you can do, and that they will be without credit card processing for their two busiest days of the week. Gee whiz. Seriously Heartland, you owe Vicki Overley whatever she wants. She just cancelled a trip out of town to save your butts. SUPERSTAR REP.
