Just got around to seeing Fruitvale Station and, ironically, it - TopicsExpress

Just got around to seeing Fruitvale Station and, ironically, it did not make me sad; it angered me! Why is black life so sacrificial? Why dont we matter? And its just not mattering to the world, its not mattering to ourselves. I never even heard of Oscar Grant III until I heard about this movie. But Trayvon Martin was shoved down my throat 24-7. LA rioted, as they always do, but where was the world on this one? Is it because he had a record? Is it because his parents were less affluent? Actually, none of the aforementioned even matters. Black people are catching hell everyday, especially Black men. When will WE stand up? Enough is enough! Willie Lynch did a number on you Backward Blacks and Twisted Negroes! He turned you around so much and tangled you so badly, you dont know left from right or up from down. You allowed them (everyone) to see us as invisible. YOU allow everyone, including yourselves, to make us non-factors. As Dunbar famously wrote, [You] wear the mask. So what to do now?
