Just got back from our annual hunting trip to Missouri. Long drive and it rained about half the trip. Didnt pull the trigger again this year. We didnt drive over 30 hours round trip to shoot a small deer. Blue tongue disease and chronic wasting disease really wiped out a lot of the deer herd. At the end of last season, the farmers were finding dead deer all over the place. Terrible end for such a noble animal. May skip Missouri next year and go to Georgia or possibly Kentucky for our annual hunt. I have an invitation to go to Kentucky this year, but will have to use my muzzleloader instead of a rifle. That remains a possibility. Ive harvested two deer so far and dont have any meat in my freezer yet. Had to take care of family first. Trip really wore me out, but I bounce back pretty quick. Ready to hunt again tomorrow. No guts, no glory
