Just got back to Socorro, NM, after a wonderful visit to Morton,half way between Morton & Whiteface, Levelland, & Lubbock, TX!! First stop, the farms that my brother, Freddie Brown, takes care of and farms with such amazing talent!! He showed me all the crops and explained what procedures he was (& is) doing for the harvest; I love to hang out with my little brother at the farms; brings back great memories & funny stories!!!! Then by the cemetery to see my parents graves with the headstone in place (decided to get some flowers & spruce it up a bit for autumn). I had dinner and a game of Shanghai with Freddie and my SIL, Prescilla Brown; great visit, fun time, and of course, we did much more visiting than card playing--haha!!The next day I got to see my sister, Julie Cribbs, who needed to shop for things to get her house ready to sell! They (Julie & her husband, Tom) are moving to CO to be near their grandsons; imagine that?? Julie & I were successful in our shopping endeavor, even though neither of us likes to shop!! We celebrated by having lunch at PeiWeis!! That evening I went by the cemetery & decorated with fall flowers, then stopped by to see a dear family friend, Dorothy Barker; we had a great visit, even though it was short!! Got to have dinner with Fred, Cilla, aunts, Berta Abbé and Nell Coats; what a fun time!! The next day we, the Aunts & I, joined Julie & had lunch, & then went to visit with Mayland and Mary Abbe; we had a great time, and I enjoyed seeing everyone so much!! To my Blackstone relatives, Shanna Blackstone-Pennington, Nancy Blackstone Peace, Katie McDonald, Thomas Blackstone, Ann Blackstone Johnson, Dale Blackstone, & other family, we were going to go see your dad, Harvey, but heard that people were getting a bad cough, so we decided that Nell & Berta probably didnt need to be exposed to any germs, bacteria, viruses, etc.; I am very sorry that I didnt get to visit with him, any of you who were at your dads, or any other relatives!! I spent the evening with Fred & Cilla, another card game, & some great salsa, guacamole, & my favorite, stuffed jalapeños from the garden--yummy!! I got up this am, had some coffee & a shake, then bid my brother & SIL goodbye, and Lucy, and Little Bitty Kitty, and made it safe & sound back home!! My pups, Eddie & Maisie, were very glad to see me; they always make me feel very needed & loved--haha!! What a Wonderful Weekend!!! I am Very Blessed!!
