Just got bk from La. yesterday n we were tired but we still had things to do bf we could relax. It got off to a hectic start since we couldnt get a car til late. So on the 1st day we didnt get much sleep. Got to see my daughter Tay n the other D. She was the head lady dancer and man can she dance. She dances womens fancy shawl as good as any worlds champion can dance!! I was thoroughly impressed! I got to sing with the Caddoes and another Non Caddoes who learned our songs. It was fun. They dont sing every song exactly like we do but its okay bc they are understandable. When they had the Switch Dance Tay came and gave me a shawl. Which means I had to dance like a woman fancy dancer!! lol OMG I wouldnt mind it usually but 3months of inactivity pays a toll. My injured shoulder wouldnt allow me to do anything for 3months!! Therefore Im xtremely out of shape. Well I struggled through it even though like legs didnt quite do what I told them!! haha It was fun any way. We also had a give away for her bc of her honor. In NDN culture whenever you have an honor then you give things out to ppl of significance. Shawls and blanket etc Could be anything! So we called up a few ppl and I donated some $$ in her honor for next years pow wow. We love the Caddo Adais ppl bc they are like our relatives. And of course they treat us like Royalty!!! So I had a blast with every thing but the Switch dance...jst kidding!!! LOL
