Just got done with The Homesman by Glendon Swarthout. He wrote The Shootist and several other books that were made into films. A great but sad story with an informative acknowledgement at the end written by his son. This is an excellent read for either women or men. Tommy Lee Jones is directing and starring in the film adaptation (from what Ive seen online it doesnt exactly follow the book). I will definitely be watching for its release. I also recently finished The Evolution of Calpirnia Tate a Newberry Award winner by Jacqueline Kelly. While considered a young persons novel, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good read.
