Just got home from visiting my mother-in-law in the hospital. She - TopicsExpress

Just got home from visiting my mother-in-law in the hospital. She has gangrene on her 3rd middle toe. It is black. They are going to remove it in the morning at 7:30am. Once in there if any part of her toes or foot goes soft or black they will continue amputating. She could lose more than one toe, part of her foot or her entire foot. Praying its only one toe. After this she will go back to her room and they will see how she heals. Due to her having diabetes she will be transferred to the wound care center. They will put her in a cylinder with 100% oxygen to help get more oxygen into her blood due to poor circulation (she is claustrophobic). Once they get this under control they will be transferring her to Indiana to have stents put in her legs to improve the circulation in her legs. Right now she has a home health nurse coming in once a week. They are going to try and get her 2 times a week. My parents donated a walker for her as medicaid will not pay for another one within 5 years. I am going to get the info for her a scooter and hope we can get it processed quickly. Just worried what they are going to do when she gets home. She already has enough problems getting around without losing limbs. Off to bed so we can get there early in the morning.
