Just got in my order form Squadron and I have found a BIG problem with the HobbyBoss F4F-4 Wildcat kit, it was fully wrapped in shrinkwrap, and came with the decals for USMC Capt. Marian Carl, a n ace with 19 victories at Guadalcanal. When I opened up the box I noticed that the Japanese kill flags on the box picture had a black square over them. upon opening the box, the instruction sheet and color painting guide also had the kill markings colored over with a black sharpie, since you can see it bleed through the instruction sheet. To make matters worse they did the same thing to the decal sheet! This must have been done at the factory since the kit was sealed. Was this sabotage, or some kind of new political or racial type of thing? Not that Im anti-Japanese, but I want to build an authentic model of Carls aircraft and that can no longer be done thanks to the actions of someone at HobbyBoss. Just find it very strange that on the Squadron website, and in several online reviews it shows the model with all of the victory flags on it. Seems like the PC police are ruining it for the rest of us.
