Just got my first vague threat from a student (not physical; just occupational). We disagreed about a grade. He acknowledged my comments were valid; he just wanted a higher grade. I told him to print a clean copy and get a clean read from another writing professor, and I would certainly listen to their assessment. I get this: They told me to take the paper to Neil Lerner, but I dont want to do that because I dont want you to get in trouble over this. What do my NU peeps think? Is Neil going to come hunt me down? Granted, I dont know him well, but he never SEEMED out for blood. And do we lose our jobs these days for marking an A paper as a B-? (PS: I was KIND in my assessment)
