Just got off the phone with Ibrahim Al-bakri Nyei. He tells me a huge chunk of the schools in Liberia are privately owned. So unlike Sierra Leone, teachers in these private institutions have not had wages in the time of this #ebola crisis. So, my mind went over-drive: could the next economic boom be this? Structure a loan system for the schools (present a workable business plan); get funding, pay teachers, get schools back online. The pressure of debt will hopefully produce efficiency. In that also means some will fail. Get the successful schools to buy-out the failing ones... Instead of begging for grants and donations, lets create a business boom (after all, much of EUs business and success started off as debts!). #thinkingOverdrive #postEbola
