Just got the news about Robin Williams and am very dispirited. This is a pivotal moment in the entertainment world for me. Williams sentiment transcended his profession and his field. He effected people beyond how actors can effect anyone, as a hero would, yet somehow people mostly made fun of his later years. My friend Neil Nappe just now posted something that speaks for me as well: I will probably regret posting this, but I feel like its the 800 lb gorilla that no one dares talk about. In all these Robin Williams posts, Ive seen a few comments to the extent I hope God forgives him, etc. etc. What I hope is that God will explain to Robin why the universe is set up in such a way as to allow such profound suffering of a human consciousness that extinguishing that consciousness is the only possible escape. Then, I hope that Robin can forgive God. Either way, our collective light burns noticeably dimmer today. Robin is more than missed. He gave so much, to so many, for so long. And his reward was quiet torment. Depression is the sane, logical response of a sensitive spirit to the way the world is. Those of us who are not depressed simply exist in varying degrees of denial about the true nature of life, and its brutal indifference to the suffering of sentient creatures. Denial is a survival skill. Not all of us are born with it. RIP? Bullshit. Who the f#ck wants to rest forever? I hope his brilliant spirit is somehow frolicking, free of whatever emotional torture left him no other way out. This sucks. https://facebook/RobinWilliams
