Just got this from a pro Palestinian FB friend. WE CANNOT BE SILENT WHEN SUCH VITRIOLIC PEOPLE SPEW HATE!!! Sara Caine Kornfeld my reporting will be balanced when there is symmetry in the situation. Any attempt to portray balance in a situation as horribly imbalanced as this one is is would only skew the reality. I cannot with any moral honesty try to portray a balanced reality--what I try to do is express compassion for all humans impacted. I will shed postiive light on Israeli government policy when they take meaningful steps towards creating a just and durable peace. In the meantime, I already do, and will continue to, shed positive light on the many Israelis (and Palestinians) I know who work tirelessly to dismantle structures of power, privelege and oppression and work to replace them with structures of true equality, dignity and humanity. I will stand and add my voice with the Israelis and Palestinians who are calling for an end to bloodshed, occupation, and to all forms of violence, including the structural violence of the occupation/siege. And I will continue to pray (though I dont pray in religious terms) for the safety, security, dignity and freedom of every Israeli and Palestinian.
