Just got to spend the morning interviewing author Dan Wakefield for what may become a documentary about him. Heard some great stories about New York authors in the 50s, like James Baldwin and May Swenson and others drinking at the White Horse Tavern, and J.D. Salinger bringing cheese to a poker game, and hanging out with Robert Redford later on during the filming of Quiz Show which Dan was in, and was about Dans teacher Mark Van Dorins son. Yea, that was worth getting up early for!
