Just had a chat with Mount Vernon Water Supt. Chuck Gray. Heres whats up: Everything is up and running, but Water Utility employees are manually running the plant. This means guys running back and forth with wrenches opening and closing valves, according to Gray. He had to call the Indiana Dept. of Environmental Management due to the boil order. IDEM officials are due at the plant any time to investigate the situation. Gray said that the boil order could be lifted as early as tomorrow, but said that Thursday or Friday is more likely. He said he is more concerned about the depressurization and what that could mean to the lines in terms of particles, and doesnt want to take any chances. Well keep you up-to-date as we find out more information.
