Just had a potential customer cancel a booking because I could not get there due to the many days of poor weather blocking a flight across the mountains to the remote location. Instead they have bought a drone/UAV. I sent them a polite email which details the legal needs when operating a drone commercially as in this case. One of their work sites is close to a civil airport and another is inside an active firing range. I am used to getting the correct clearances, however i wonder if companies who just think drone operating is simple have realised how big the fines can be for breaking the rules?
