Just had a random flashback. My first ever magazine feature was an interview with Ant & Dec, still called PJ & Duncan, 20 years ago(!). Still the nicest, funniest people Ive interviewed. I know I should really have got over this, but someone wrote to the magazine the next issue saying I was naive to believe the PR and ending with the words, Havent you heard of scriptwriters? Being my first feature I was a bit upset, and there wasnt the opportunity to explain there were no scriptwriters about when they were making me laugh during our trip. So anyway, I finished my feature by saying they should give up music and concentrate on TV, because theyre naturals. And theyve won 13 National TV Awards in a row now. All down to the scriptwriters on the PJ & Duncan show no doubt.
