Just had a visit from a very official Bailiff at my door demanding £525 for a traffic offence back in February when someone driving my car, got trapped in a yellow criss-cross box on a Junction in Hammersmith. I would like to know how many people got trapped by Hammersmith and Fulham Council that Sunday 25 February in that same box with traffic. It was gridlocked and It took my family (cant say who was driving) 4 hours from Wandsworth to Acton to attend a Christening, which we subsequently missed sitting in traffic, then another 4 hours back as a result of traffic to and from Westfield Shopping centre and perhaps other problems in the area. Shouldnt Hammersmith and Fulham Council take some responsibility for this gridlock? Shouldnt they be putting systems in place to take the weight of the extra traffic following this vast Commercial Development in their borough and the traffic ensuing therefrom? It is us that should be charging Hammersmith and Fulham for our loss, the stress and anxiety, monies spent to attend our event, which was missed, the extra fuel burned sitting in stationery traffic! This is an extortion racket to generate monies for the council, otherwise they would try to alleviate the congestion, not monopolise it. We shall not pay but will try to counterclaim, as my protests have gone unnoticed. All suggestions welcomed:
