Just had to give housemate notice. So, available after Feb.15th. (probably around the 17th) a spacious, 325 plus sq. ft. room with hardwood (oak) floors, Honduras maple trim and 2 window seats. One seat has storage beneath, the other window seat is in an oriel window. The room also has two cedar-lined walk-in closets plus another attic storage closet. The main room is 325 sq ft and one of the walk-in closets is big enough for a double bed plus a couple of feet. The other closet is larger than most closets. If that was confusing--there are 3 large closets. This is the master bedroom in a 1929 mansion designed by Ellis Lawrence during his whimsical period (its pretty). The room has a door into it from the stairs and also has a door into the bathroom. The bathroom is large and has a tub-- the original and very comfy-- as well as a roomy, walk-in shower. The room is on the second floor and no other housemates occupy that floor as the other rooms are used for storage. The house sits on nearly an acre of lovely, secluded and woody area close to the Willamette River. There is secure off-street parking, free laundry facilities, free wifi and free garbage and recycling. Close to downtown and Valley River Center. Walk or bike to VRC and the river in minutes. Bike to downtown on adjacent bike path in 15 minutes or less. MUST love dogs. Well-mannered (or on the way to well-mannered) dogs are more than welcome. There is a huge, dog-friendly fenced back yard and with a fire pit too. Sorry, no cats in the house though due to allergies. However, we care for feral cats in the separate, front yard. We also foster dogs from time to time. Handy people will be able to trade for rent from time to time--rate is relative to skill level required. Gardeners will love it here. We grow stuff! and you will have the space to do the same if so inclined. Organic practices only. We are also bee-keepers. Housemate will share kitchen and bathroom with 2 others. You will have your own separate fridge and a portion of the kitchen space. We are looking for a like-minded housemate who is relaxed, low stress (though willing to work out any issues that might arise) , low-maintenance and open to alternative life styles. Rent is 400. 00 a month plus utilities (EWEB and NW Natural Gas) . Utilities are divided equally among residents. Location: River Road and Fir Lane (just off Chambers) and very close to Maury Jacobs park. We are more interested in finding a long-term fit than in renting quickly.
