Just in case you dont know what to say or do when someones mother, father, son daughter spouse dies heres some tips.... Things to say 1) Im sorry to hear XXXX died 2) I dont know what to say but Im thinking of you and your family 3) How sad. 4) How are you doing? How are the children/your partner dealing with your loss. Things not to say... 1) Ive been so busy cause I have such a fabulous social life 2) Im going to spa/hair dresser cause Ive had a bad day 3) your mum/ dad ect is better off dead Things to do when someone has a death in the family.... 1) call 2) write a note 3) send a card 4) send flowers 5) ask if there is anything you can do for the family Things not to do 1) pretend the death did not happen 2) dont return my phone call I get death can make people uncomfortable. But telling me about the paper cut you got this week & how much it hurts doesnt quite compare to losing a family member.
