Downtown Duncanville was built before WW2. It has an old fashioned hybrid grid system. Connect the schools, parks, businesses, and churches via walkable and bikeable paths. Lets build some simple connections so that people can ride there bikes to retail areas. Quality affordable custom housing is here. People can move into a house in Duncanville and start fixing it up very quickly. Urban Farmsteads are here. Small houses all the way up to acreage is here in Duncanville. You can knock down a wall and make a huge contemporary kitchen and living room in a fixer upper house in Duncanville. We have really cool duplexes that can be remodeled. #rediscoveringDUNCANVILLE Rebuilding and repurposing buildings. The Butcher, The Baker and the Candlestick Maker. Two new apartments on Davis were leased before they were even built. We need a Bike-Preneur. And we might have found the perfect Bike-Preneur... We will let you know… Do you know of any chefs that want to start a restaurant? Let us know. The old K Mart is now a tortilla factory and restaurant. Lets build creative neighborhoods. Main Street is starting to gain momentum. Should our Feed Store on Main be a historical landmark? We want to keep the industrial businesses right where they are. Lets put up sign toppers with the unique subdivision names on top of the city signs throughout Duncanville. Lets become bike friendly with time. Lets activate our wonderful city parks with events. We should get car shows and swap meets in our parking lots around town. We need to become the Do It Yourself developer. This is not just about Main Street. Cedar Ridge, Camp Wisdom and Wheatland are very important in #rediscoveringDUNCANVILLE. Lets start with sign toppers, full test bike lanes from Main Street to Cedar Ridge and organized Street markets. Lets continue to generate momentum.
