Just in from a mom of a precious little girl with DS. TOTALLY INSANE RESULTS! Ok, we have only done the videos for three meals, but I AM BLOWN AWAY!!! Molly had been backsliding with her oral feedings. It was torture to get 1/2 to 1 pouch in her at meals. She had also boycotted all crunchy foods (puffs, goldfish, etc.). She also would maybe take one or two sips from a soppy or straw. Today she has eaten two full pouches or tubs of baby food at each meal without any complaint!! She also drank 40ccs from a cup with a straw at dinner tonight!!! Right now she is sitting here crunching on pretzels!!!! What is the correlation with eating and the videos? I just cant believe it!! Also, if she is eating through the video, she obviously cant mimic the sounds or mouth movements. She is already signing fish, lizard and bear as of lunch today. Should we watch the videos without feeding? Finally, I LOVE the Daily Logs. What a blessing!!! Should I create one per day and keep editing it? Or create a new one for each meal/therapy? She said that she couldnt work on both language and oral motor at the same time. I told her that there was nothing BETTER for this than Gemiini. The brain lights up and everything works better. Even gross motor skills improve DRASTICALLY. If you think about it, it doesnt make sense that it wouldnt! The brain controls all of these things, so if you are exercising it, everything it controls improves. As far as daily logs, create a new one each day and rate her feeding on a scale of 1 to 10 (today she obviously got a 10!) That way you can track how everything in her life affects her feeding.
