Just leafing through an old Marguerite Patten book. Its thrilling to think that just a few decades ago we thought it totally agreeable to throw butter, onions, curry powder, milk, semolina, canned prawns, hard-boiled eggs, raisins and a banana into a pot and call it a curry. Manila Curry, to give it its full title. My, how weve grown. Shes also responsible for such monstrosities as Tongue and Cheese Balls, Prawn stuffed Apples and Bananas Singapore, which incredibly involves just under a pint Chicken Stock, a pound of Bananas (just under-ripe), 1/2 pint Prawns and two level teaspoons Curry Powder. Sorry if I just made anyone sick.
