Just like life is a journey, health is a journey. Health is apart of life. And I know a lot, if not all of my updates and posts are 99.9% positive and I may make it look or seem so easy. But, lets be real and transparent. Sometimes and somedays, it just isnt fun, easy or all rainbows and butterflies, right? For those of you who know me - health although one of my greatest strengths and assests that I have and teach, has not been easy to come by. If anything there has been more pain, more struggle, dis-ease and uncomfortableness in my life. Its hard. It is work, but this is what makes the results so sweet. This struggle though, I wouldnt give up for the world. Why? Because, it allows me to connect, to empathize, and to help others understand themselves and what they can do about certain things. You see, health isnt just about food and nutrition - its not. Its one piece of the pie. The funny thing is that when I start talking to most people, we barely talk about nutrition. So, whats it really about? Its about attitude, our mental state, our barriers. Its about getting down to the core level, to the beliefs, emotions and feelings, identifying those and learning skills on how to cope - most skills that our parents never taught us, just because they simply didnt know. Health is a relationship you create with your food, attitude and body and yourself. Health doesnt just fall outta the sky - neither does disease. Health is something you work towards, you lean into, and recommit to each and everyday. Im not interested in the lose weight fast or get health quick scheme. Im interested in helping people gain mind and body SKILLS that they can use for a lifetime. Because afterall, were whole people. Shouldnt we be looking at whole health and the whole pie? Food.
