Just like many today in the world and in scripture, the Pharisees, the rich young ruler, the Sadducees, and others, just saw Jesus Yeshua as an ordinary man, not the Son of Man. Jesus is these verses forgives sin that only the God of Israel does. Why? He is the divine logos or Word which is God incarnate, fully divine in deity and substance as His Father. No one can forgive sins, but, Yahweh and the Son also. Why? They both are One! Jesus is the only Way, Truth, and Life folks. He is our mediator and intercessor who forgives sins and cleanses us with His perfect blood. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Yeshua Jesus, the Messiah. (Luke 7:47-49) The Parable of the Two Debtors Jesus said, For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little. Then He said to her, Your sins have been forgiven. Those who were reclining at the table with Him began to say to themselves, Who is this man who even forgives sins?… (Matthew 9:2)Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their FAITH, he said to the man, Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven. Who was their FAITH in? It was in Messiah, not a man, but, the Son of God! Jesus forgave him of his sin and healed him. A man cannot do that, but, God the Word can. Jesus can! (Matthew 9:5) Jesus said, Which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Get up and walk? (Romans 8:1) So that now, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ, Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Galatians 3:11) Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because the righteous will live by FAITH. (Romans 8:39)neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (John 13:33-35) A New Command I Give You Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, Where I am going, you cannot come. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
