Just look at it this way. We need to create consumers as Consumers are the true job creators. Without the need to produce more product or service customers, no business has the need to hire new employees. So how do we create more consumers? First we go to one of the biggest consumers in the country and have them begin by investing in improving and adding to the infrastructure, fixing roads bridges, increasing access to high speed internet, upgrade and secure the electrical grid, upgrade pipe lines, railroads and river barges to prepare the nation for an improving economy so it can grow. That consumer is the US Government ,who needs to make this investment. It contracts these projects to private enterprise who hires workers to do the construction. Each one of these newly hired workers in return become consumers with the income they earn purchasing more items and requiring more services thus creating the need for businesses that make the products or provide the services to hire more workers to accommodate the new consumers. This creates more consumers with the newly hired workers thus creating a circle of growth in jobs by creating more and more consumers. Now for the other benefit beyond the job creation. It also creates more and more people who are employed paying taxes instead of depending on the government for food and shelter (SNAP and TANF) thus reducing the cost to the government for these benefits. It also increases the total tax revenue to the government coffers while reducing the individuals tax bite. Once the job pump has been primed and the infrastructure is up to par the government scales back from those projects and begins the process of paying down the debt, reducing the deficit and balancing the budget. In less then five years we can have a true balanced budget, reduced taxes for individuals and a thriving economy. Simple, but in order for it to happen we all must focus on creating consumers for Job growth.
