In 1890 the Heligoland – Zanzibar Treaty was made, in which German agreed to recognize the British Protectorate over the island of Zanzibar, that year Zanzibar became a Protectorate (not a colony) of Britain. United Kingdom: the union resulted from the treaty of the union agreed in 1706 and enacted by Twin Acts of union passed by the parliament of both countries. Scotland’s legal system has remained separate from those of England and Wales and Scotland constitutes a distinct jurisdiction in public and private law. The continued existence of legal education and religious institutions distinct from those in the remainder of the UK has all contributed to the continuation of Scottish culture and national identity since the 1707 union. The document serve to enable the people make a comparison with the status quo of Barotseland and Zambia. If Zambia has to claim that they made one country with Barotseland, then the formation of Zambia is unparalleled to any country that has ever existed in the world. Where a kingdom and a nonentity sign an agreement that is dishonored, has never been experienced before; Even if they had united, unity of a kingdom and a colony does not result into a republic.
