Just met a young Indian girl and she asked me what kind of work I did. I told her I did music for a living, and she asked me to sing her a song, so I did, and then I asked her what kind of music she listened to. She proceeded to tell me that she only listened to Indian music and since I was an American I probably wouldnt like it. I then told her that I liked discovering music from all over the world, and then I asked her who her favorite Indian artist was. After she told me, she was so shocked when I immediately pulled out my phone and started looking up the artist. For a few moments we listened together and she ran and grabbed her mom to let her know this American girl was now listening to one of their favorite Indian artists. I may never see the young girl and her mom again, and I may never even listen to that song again, but in that moment, I was just reminded how special it can be when we take time to show interest in other people. I dont say this to brag on myself, because I know for a fact that there have been numerous times in my life where I have done the exact opposite and have been way too *busy* to stop and listen to others. So I just encourage you, take the time to get to know and appreciate the people God puts in your path. Even in the smallest moments, you never know what kind of light you can bring, and you never know what kind of light that person can bring to you.
