Just met a young Korean boy named Kim who is visiting Singapore with his family. He passionately shared with me his hobby of collecting items like old handphones, game consoles and gadgets in Korea and when he travels. He proudly showed me the photos of all his collections and they filled up his small room! I asked him why would he want to collect such items and he told me he loves retro stuffs and aspires to collect enough to set up a Vintage Museum in Korea when he grows up - because by then, those stuff would be retro enough! I truly admire his vision, maturity and aspiration, I told him to keep this dream alive no matter what. I am a retro lover and collector too but I never thought I would find a young counterpart like him till today! While many kids chase after the latest gadgets, toys and whatnot, we have young Kim here who is willing to sacrifice his time, effort and space (most literally) to preserve a part of history and show it to the next generation. I told him that Im excited to visit his museum in the future; he nodded with a big smile before we parted ways. :)
