Just one day after my birthday I received the call that my Grandaddy is gone. I have dreaded this day for years. I thank God that coming back from the mountains we stopped by to see him July 18th. Although my heart is breaking I am so grateful that unlike most... He died peacefully in his home where he wanted to be. As a nurse I witness so many people bound to hospital beds for months at a time, not able to go outside, see their familiar surroundings or be with the ones who love them most. Thank you Mary N Chris Elrod for helping Gram the past 2 weeks. I had not seen her smile and joke around like that in awhile. Heaven is in for an awakening with Lamar Griffin! Im sure they are all laughing as we speak. Lol! Grandaddy... Thank you for giving me some of the best memories and stories that I talk about all the time from The Farm. It will also be my sanctuary and what made me most happy. I thank God that he blessed me with you for 40 years. All my love to you Grandaddy. Dont worry about Gram... Shes in good hands.
