Just one small concrete idea for Ukraine how to get back Crimea Ukraine should implement the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan, which is a key to have visa-free regime with the EU. Moldovans will soon travel to the EU without visas, because they successfully completed this VLAP. Then, imagine, Ukrainian citizens travel without visas to the EU, but Crimean inhabitants with Russian passports, cannot do so. They would envy (at least some of them) Ukrainians, they could regret the fact that they lost Ukrainian citizenship. Soft power in action. :-) So the Ukrainian government should implement this VLAP as soon as possible so the EU can grant Ukrainians a visa-free regime. PS: Two legitimate remarks that one can raise: - most Crimean inhabitants do to travel to the EU, not their destination; - there might be a possibility to keep both passports. ------- Added later: If Ukraine is economically developing, the welfare is growing rapidly (Ukraine has this potential if the necessary reforms are implemented) then Crimean inhabitants (not the only ones in the RF :-) ) would think twice what has happened in late February-beginning of March 2014. The EU is ready and fully committed to help with these reforms.
