Just over a month ago on 12 September we commemorated the death anniversary of Jaikishan. Today we commemorate the 92nd birth anniversary of Shankar, the elder of the music duo. Normally when we talk of SJ the songs that come to mind are the ones written by Shailendra, sung by Mukesh and played by Raj Kapoor on screen. But this song which I chose to pay tributes to Shankar is composed by the duo in Rag Bhairvi and Taal Kaherwa is rendered by Talat Mehmood. By far Talat Mehmood remains one of most melodious voices of Indian cinema. This fabulous song with Shankar-Jaikishans awesome orchestra and beautiful melody in the voice of Talat Mehmood. Written byShailendra for the film Daag is well beyond the words to describe! The song is wonderful, robust and well-balanced. The lyrics are sensitive, delicate and full of emotions. Great music keeping tempo, rhythm, and melody together. It start with a very slow to easy tempo and keeping blistering pace with orchestra. Evergreen song...Very impressive. ai mere dil kahii.n aur chal Gam kii duniyaa se dil bhar gayaa Dhuu.NDh le ab koI ghar nayaa ai mere dil kahii.n aur chal chal jahaa.N gam ke maare na ho.n jhuuThii aashaa ke taare na ho.n jhuuThii aashaa ke taare na ho.n in bahaaro.n se kyaa faayadaa jis me.n dil kii kalii jal gaI zaKm phir se haraa ho gayaa ai mere dil kahii.n aur chal chaar aa.Nsuu koI ro diyaa pher ke mu.Nh koI chal diyaa pher ke mu.Nh koI chal diyaa luT rahaa thaa kisii kaa jahaa.N dekhatii rah gaI ye zamii.n chup rahaa beraham aasamaa.n ai mere dil kahii.n aur chal
