Just posting a word of caution for buyers/sellers on Saturday at Gilmanor. Remember to research the breeds you are interested in BEFORE showing up Saturday. If you are new to chickens especially, please check out characteristics for a roo if you cant or dont want any. Check out the pullets/hens charactericstics too. So many people end up with roos when they didnt want them or cant have them. People will lie to you about what you are buying. Most people want to be honest. Some people dont eve know themselves what they have. ALSO check for illness before buying and use hand sanitizer if at all possible. Use bio security for your flock at home as well and put new purchases separated from your flock. I think most of us know this, but Sunday and the next two wks we will be seeing disappointed people on here complaining about the unexpected roo they got when they thought they were buying a pullet/hen. Some will have illnesses they didnt see Saturday. JUST BUYER BEWARE! Get phone numbers of people so you can contact them if need be afterwards. Have fun though and just be AWARE. RESEARCH! try not to impulse buy! :)
