Just read a post about a family who wants to give away their 6 cats (all between 10-13 yrs old) because the new baby might be harmed by cat hair and the mess those kitties would make by using their litter boxes. - - - - - - - Well. My kids grew up surrounded by cat hair and dog hair, when they got older - additional to that - guinea pig, bunny and hamster hair. Neighbours cat, dog, bunny and guinea pig hair. Rescued mice, baby rabbit and (one time) rat hair. Oh! Horse hair! Sheep hair and goat hair! They were playing in mud puddles and sometimes only supposed to enter the house through the mud room in the basement lol. --- What I wanted to say... removing cat hair is like trying to remove dust... and btw house dust mites (which flourish in mattresses, bedding, upholstered furniture, and carpets) are present indoors wherever humans live. Would people stop hugging the baby because skin contact could transport a dust mite on babys nose?? - The world is a dangerous place! But Ive never heard of a small child being harmed by pet hair. *rant end*
