Just read an article about Why Marriage Isnt the Number One Priority for Some 20-Something Year Olds... Needless to say, I loved it. It was in the perspective of a single 24-year-old woman, but I still feel some points relatable. All of this being said, Id like to share that my dating relationship with my boyfriend is just as important to me as any marriage I envision. Marriage is not a priority for me... RIGHT NOW. Having children is not a priority for me... RIGHT NOW. And I greatly admire my friends and family who have the most beautiful relationships with their spouses and adorable babies. Quick summary of this long-winded post: I love the life I live with my boyfriend and with my job. My happiness is in knowing myself and trusting that my life can bring happiness and growth to my kids (cough, my awesome softball/basketball players). One day, Ill be a Bridezilla hunting for my favorite orchid bouquets, and itll be a day special for so many people for so many reasons. One day, Ill be waddling around with another person in my gut, and Ill love it. But on this day, Im happy with what I have. Im grateful for the people in my life and the opportunities offered to me. Im ambitious, girly, independent, nerdy, somewhat intelligent, and most importantly, loved. And the beauty of it all is...marriage definitely isnt my number-one priority. Yet I still live DEEPLY IN LOVE with my life and with those in it each and every day.
