Just received a phone call from a supposed IRS CI agent. They gave me a number to call back 347-779-0198. When I called back they asked for my Lawyers information. I told them before I gave them anything I wanted to know what they were investigating. It quickly turned into a yelling match and he hung up on me when I asked for his name and his employee number!!! When I called the IRS at 1800-829-1040 and explained to the operator my situation she transferred me to the Fraud Unit. The Fraud Unit then gave me Tigtas website (tigta.gov) and there phone number 1-800-366-4484. When I called the number they said they were getting a high volume of these calls and sent me to their website. If you have the same issue to report please go to their website at tigta.gov, click on the red IRS Impersonation button in the upper right hand corner and submit a report. Too many people have a bad opinion of the IRS already we do not need people like this adding to the problem
