Just relaxing and watching the ravens/steelers game when I felt this sudden urgency to go to bed because it was getting late and thats probably what I should do... But in all honesty, I didnt want to! There was only about 8 more minutes in the 4th quarter. But before I knew it I was up off my lazy butt flipping off the tv and as I turned to go turn off a lamp I see what looks like a candle thats burnt down to the bottom but a bit out of control for a candle. So I immediately blow on it... To my surprise the decent size flame didnt extinguish. So I blew a second time only harder and the got same result! And at this point the pottery outside was getting so warm that it was burning into the wooden surface beneath as I saw a little smoke coming from beneath. At this point, Im determined to get this seemingly tiny but potentially dangerous fire out! So I hustle into the kitchen and grab a glass of water to douse it with and as I went to go pore it I suddenly felt again that same urgency to only try poring a little water on it. As I pore the water it causes the fire to sore higher with sparks flying out and causes me to take a step back! I finally ran into my parents bedroom waking the two of them up careful not to freak them out and my mom hurries into the room and says its electrical! Get the baking soda! So we finally got the fire out by dousing it with baking soda and the only damage done was a square black burn marking on the surface of one of my parents antique desks. If you ask me it still looks fine just a little more antiqued. :P and if you took the time to read this little story I want to let you know how especially thankful I am to still have a home, to not be harmed or others be harmed by what could have happened tonight if by some feeling of urgency I felt the need to go to bed earlier or later. I really feel God had a hand in tonights exciting event. But whether it was God or not, Im still extremely thankful! :)
