Just returned from 2014 Nickelsdorf Festival. 85% free improvisation bands, but this one was decidedly different and a real highlight. Heres a segment recorded by a fan - you know - 3:43 random minutes. Still, for those of you into Eithiopiques CDs, man this cat is the shit. I cant find any recordings of his that are nearly as DYNAMIC as this set was live. But then Hailu had been listening to all the crazy great music all weekend so he knew he could really reach for the stars on his organ/keyboards, which he did. Eithiopiques meets Sun Ra!!! Awesome. You dont get that here but you get a good sense of the great rhythm section he had with him, and that obviously made a big difference.
