Just saw Fury last night and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to see powerful drama of men at war in tanks. As War of the Worlds: Goliath is dipping into the same genre, this movie was of a lot of interest to me and may be to you as well. Direction, writing and acting are all superb and the continuous SCALE of the many different battlefields and forward bases is HUGE and detailed. And the ferocity of action is as good or better then the recent Pacific series. Be warned, its not your fathers Good War movie. Its a strong statement on the brutal dehumanization that war brings to good and bad men alike. In the end, they pretty much have to become killer orcs in order to survive, loyal only to each other and the tank they service. Its a tough line to follow, keeping these characters and their actions real while not undercutting the need for the audience to care for them, but the script/director/actors pull it off. Youre horrified by what these men have had to become, but you do care about them and in the end, can be touched by the camaraderie and love and respect they share for each other. Brad Pitt is insanely good as the tanks Top—Wardaddy. Even Shia LaBeouf turns in a decent performance for once. Go see it. And see it on the Big Screen.
